Interactive devices such as Interactive Whiteboards (IWBs) require appropriate drivers and software to be fully functional. Without them certain features like quick buttons and shortcuts do not work correctly. Most hardware is supplied with suitable software. For example Promethean boards will have an ActivInspire licence and Smartboards will have a Smart Notebook licence.
With the increase in competition for the interactive market there are many more manufacturers supplying interactive hardware. If you are using, or intend to use, hardware from alternate suppliers then you may require a collaborative software licence. Depending upon the situation this can be either a one purchase of a single classroom licence, or an annual subscription to a site licence.
You may also find that newer versions of interactive software do not work with older hardware, or the licencing terms may have change that require a subscription.
We can help to answer all these questions for you as well as supplying the licences.
